Dora L (Babcock) Nelson, of Fremont and formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019, four days after celebrating her 98th birthday.

Funeral Services were Monday, August 12, at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Dora was laid to rest next to her husband at Fairplains Cemetery.  Please consider a memorial contribution in Dora’s name to Spectrum Health Hospice, 750 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

Janice Karen Workman, 72, went ‘home’ to her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 12, 2019 at her home on Sunflower Lane at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility, in Fremont.

A graveside service took place for family and friends at the Oakwood Cemetery in Muskegon on Thursday afternoon, August 15.

Joseph Lee Brooks, 88, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2019 at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont. 

According to Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service was held on Saturday afternoon, August 17, at Fremont Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with his son-in-law, Pastor Greg Gordon, officiating. 

Suggested memorial is  The Terry Wantz Historical Research Center.

Frances Lee Hovey, 82, of Grand Rapids/White Cloud passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2019. 

A family gathering to celebrate and remember Frances was held on Monday, August 19 at Reyers North Valley Chapel funeral home.

Carl James “Jim” Wilson, 88, of Grant, passed away on August 14, 2019 at his home.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with memorial services held on Saturday, August 24, at 2 p.m. at the Grant Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jeff O’Vell officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Ashland-Grant Fire Department.

Ronald Florn Passage, 95, of Grant, passed away on August 16, 2019 at home. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services, Grant Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, at 11 a.m. at the North Casnovia Baptist Church in Bailey, with Pastor Aaron Shaw officiating. Burial will take place in the Seaman Cemetery.

Roger D. Wambaugh, 80, of Hesperia, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019. 

A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Hesperia American Legion, 4075 S. 198th Ave. in Hesperia.

Interment will be in the Lilley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the  Wambaugh family to assist with expenses or to the Kidney Foundation.

Evan Richard Yonker, 28, of Twin Lake and formerly of Fremont passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 24 at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. There will be visitation to meet with the family prior to the service starting at 12 noon.

Contributions may be made to the Hailey and Brooklyn Yonker Educational Fund for a more lasting memorial.
